Types of memeberships

  • Members
  • Associate members
  • Patrons

All visual artists who were born or have their centre of interest in Tyrol can become full members.
Associate members are experts who are interested in the work of the association.
Patrons are physical and/or legal persons who support the association with an individual membership fee.

§6 Acquisition of membership

1. All physical persons who are active in the field of visual arts and have a university degree from a university of the arts that is recognised in Austria can become members of the association. If applicants do not fulfil the criterion of an university degree from an university of the arts registered or accredited in Austria, they have the opportunity to submit work samples and documents to the board for admission to the association. The board decides on admission by a simple majority of the valid votes cast on two fixed dates per year. An application process may involve only one presumptive member or several presumptive members at the same time. Ordinary members are provided with the association’s statutes upon admission.
2. Upon admission to the association, new members are exempt from membership fees for one calendar year. If admitted in the first half of the year, the exemption applies to the calendar year of admission. If admitted to the association in the second half of the year, the exemption applies to the following calendar year.
3. The board decides on the admission of associate members. Admission can be refused without giving reasons.
4. A patron is admitted upon application to the board and payment of an individually agreed annual membership fee. Admission can be refused without stating reasons.

Documents required for admission as a full member:

  • Diploma of an Austrian art university or a degree from an art academy accredited in Austria.
  • Portfolio / CV
  • Applicants without a degree from a universiy of the arts, are requested to submit proof of continuous artistic practice

Applications can only be submitted digitally by email to the Künstler*innen Vereinigung Tirol at office@kuveti.at. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis (the jury, consisting of the board, meets twice a year). The board does not enter into correspondence regarding the reasons for admission or rejection.

The membership fee is € 50 per year. The membership fee can also be debited directly from the account annually via SEPA direct debit.
