Finissage & Artist Talk with Peter Niedertscheider and Bettina Siegele

East Tyrolean artist Peter Niedertscheider’s expressive means is the rilievo schiacciato, the “flattened” relief, with which he explores complex possibilities of contemporary figurative sculpture. In his new series of works, Room Divider (RAUMTEILER), realised in marble or limestone, motifs are set in varying relationships to one another through a subtle interaction of surface and space. In this way, proportions are also subverted to alter the significance of things.
