Pay the Artist now! Infotour 2023/24

Together with the Pay the Artist now! projcet group, which includes members of the IG Bildenden Kunst and the Tyrolean Artists´Association, the kick-off event of the nationwide information tour Pay the Artist now! 2023/2024 will take place on 29.11.2023 at 18.00 at the Neue Galerie Innsbruck.

The aim of the tour is to provide information on the current status of the Fair Pay process and, conversely, to gather experiences and voices from the scene on the topic of “Fair Pay” in the visual arts in order to evaluate and further develop the ongoing process.

The public event with a round table discussion including audience participation will once again put the topics of fair pay and fair working conditions in the visual arts up for debate; it will ask about the status quo, milestones and challenges, as well as future prospects.

The discussion will be moderated by Anita Moser (Senior Scientiest, Mozarteum Salzburg). Panelists: Karolina Radenković (director of Galerie 5020, Salzburg), Bettina Siegele (curator and managing director of Tyrolean Artists´Association, Kunstpavillon, Neue Galerie and interest group), as well as representatives of the cultural departments of the City of Innsbruck and the Province of Tyrol. Welcome: Bettina Siegele and Michael Strasser (board member of the Tiroler Künstler:innenschaft and co-organizer of the Pay the Artist now Infotour 2023/24).

The video performance Von Fall zu Fall (2021) by artist Angelika Wischermann will also take place as part of the discussion.

The Pay the Artist now! Infotour 2023/24 is being developed, planned and implemented by Vasilena Gankovska, Sheri Avraham and Michael Strasser from the Pay the Artist now! projcet group developed, planned and organized.
