Information Tour Pay the Artist now! 2023/2024

Panel discussion & workshop within the framework of the Fair Pay Info Tour

The Künstler:innen Vereinigung Tirol, together with the Pay the Artist now! working group consisting of representatives from the association and IG Bildende Kunst, organised a public kick-off event for the nationwide information tour Pay the Artist now! 2023/2024 in the Neue Galerie in Innsbruck at 6pm on 29.11.2023.

The tour aims to provide information on the current status of the fair pay process and, conversely, to collect experiences and voices from the scene regarding ‘fair pay’ in the visual arts, so enabling evaluation and further development of the ongoing process.

The event was presented by Anita Moser (senior scientist, Mozarteum Salzburg). Discussion participants: Drin. Isabelle Brandauer (directress, Department of Culture Citiy of Innsbruck), Dr. Thomas Juen (director, Department of Culture State of Tyrol), Karolina Radenković (directress, Galerie 5020, Salzburg) and Bettina Siegele (directress, Künstler:innen Vereinigung Tirol, Kunstpavillon, Neue Galerie and representation of interests). Words of welcome: Bettina Siegele and Michael Strasser (board member, Künstler:innen Vereinigung Tirol and co-organiser of the pay the artist now info tour 2023/24).

To start the ball rolling for the discussion there was a video performance Von Fall zu Fall (2021) by artist Angelika Wischermann, who lives in Tyrol. This was followed by a short artist talk.
